Ballard Leads Highland as Junior

Savannah Ballard continued to build her role for the Highland girls basketball team, delivering a productive junior season while contributing across multiple areas of the game.

Ballard competed for Highland during the 2025-26 season in Highland, Indiana, appearing in 24 varsity games as a junior after playing in every varsity season since her freshman year.

The 5-foot-5 guard averaged 6.1 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game this season. She also contributed 1.8 steals per contest, providing defensive pressure and helping generate transition opportunities. Ballard’s scoring output increased from her sophomore campaign, when she averaged 5.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while continuing to handle key backcourt responsibilities.

Since joining the varsity lineup as a freshman, Ballard has appeared in 72 games and steadily increased her role each season. Over her three-year varsity career, she has averaged 5.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game while contributing defensively with 1.4 steals per contest.

Her consistency and experience have made her a reliable presence in Highland’s lineup, particularly in the backcourt where she has helped manage the pace and defensive effort.

With one season remaining, Ballard enters her senior year as one of Highland’s returning varsity contributors and an experienced leader for the program.
