The Trojans scored four in the first, three in the third and two in the fourth to take a 9-0 lead en route to a 10-1 rout of Andrean.
The game took place on Thursday, April 30, at Highland High School, part of a home-and-away week between the schools. Andrean won the first game, 5-1, on April 28 at Andrean.
Sophomore second-baseman and lead-off man Brady Boyd went 3-4 with a double, sophomore shortstop Nate Phillips went 2-3 with two RBIs and senior catcher Kirk Dapshis went 2-4 for Highland, which had nine hits to the Fighting 59ers’ two.
Freshman first-baseman Logan Scheeringa and Senior Cash Washick had doubles.
Washick started on the mound for the Trojans, giving up just two hits and a run over six innings, striking out five and walking six.
Senior LHP Joe Stephan pitched a scoreless seventh inning for Highland.
Junior RHP Paxton Lukac got the loss for Andrean, lasting 3.2 innings, giving up seven runs and nine hits.
