Landen Garrison delivered a standout sophomore season for Highland, finishing with more than 30 victories and advancing deep into the IHSAA state tournament series at 150 pounds.
Garrison competed for Highland during the postseason with the sectional and regional rounds leading into the semi-state held Feb. 14 at East Chicago Central High School.
The sophomore captured the sectional title at 150 pounds and followed with a runner-up finish at the Hobart Regional to continue his postseason run. Garrison secured multiple key victories during the state series, including a technical fall over Griffith’s Joseph Gonzales and an 8-1 decision against Portage’s Kristian Tapia. He later added a 12-2 major decision against Chesterton’s Caden Mahaffey during the semi-state round.
Throughout the season, Garrison compiled a 32-10 record while competing against several ranked opponents across Northwest Indiana. His performance marked a significant step forward from his freshman year and helped establish him as a key competitor in Highland’s lineup.
Garrison now holds a 56-21 career record through two varsity seasons after posting 25 wins as a freshman. With two years of high school wrestling remaining, his sophomore campaign provides strong momentum as he continues to develop for the Trojans program.
