The Highland boys basketball team dropped a 66–50 decision to Munster in a conference road matchup.

The game was played Jan. 15 at Munster High School in Munster, Indiana, where the Trojans led early before the Mustangs took control in the second half.

Highland opened the night with a strong first quarter and held a 19–17 edge after one, using balanced scoring and steady ball movement to keep pace. Justin Slaven and Cameron Katz led the offensive effort, combining for 30 points while attacking both off the dribble and from the perimeter. Brady Boyd added eight points and provided energy in transition, and Jakob Burelson and D. Varvaris chipped in with timely baskets as the Trojans worked to maintain momentum.

Munster began to separate in the third quarter and extended its lead in the fourth with consistent scoring in the paint and at the free-throw line. Highland continued to battle on the boards and created open looks, but was unable to close the gap as the Mustangs pulled away down the stretch.

Up next, Highland will host Kankakee Valley in a conference matchup scheduled for Jan. 30 with a 7 p.m. tipoff.

The last time the two teams met, Kankakee Valley earned a 54–33 victory over Highland on Jan. 31 in Wheatfield.
