Highland pulled out a 47-46 win over Boone Grove in a tightly contested non-conference matchup.
The game was played Feb. 10 at Highland High School, where the Trojans defended their home floor in a back-and-forth contest that remained close into the final possession.
Highland stayed within striking distance throughout and executed late to secure the one-point victory. The Trojans matched Boone Grove’s physical play and limited second-chance opportunities, while making timely plays on both ends of the floor. Highland’s ability to stay composed down the stretch proved decisive as Boone Grove attempted to rally in the closing moments.
Justin Slaven played a key role in the win, providing scoring, rebounding, and defensive presence throughout the game. Cameron Katz helped direct the offense and create opportunities, while the rest of the lineup contributed defensively to keep the margin tight. Highland’s balanced effort allowed the Trojans to withstand Boone Grove’s pressure and close out the narrow win.
Up next, Highland will travel to face Hobart on Feb. 20, with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
The last meeting between the two teams took place Feb. 20 of last season, when Highland fell 55-45 to Hobart.
