Highland’s boys basketball season came to a close with a 72-48 loss to Lighthouse College Prep Academy in non-conference action.
The game was played Feb. 26 at Lighthouse College Prep Academy, where Highland wrapped up its season with an overall record of 8-15.
Highland battled throughout the contest but was unable to overcome Lighthouse College Prep Academy’s offensive production. The Trojans finished the season with 1,129 points scored and faced a challenging schedule throughout the year. Highland also competed in the Northwest Crossroads Conference, finishing 1-5 in conference play while gaining experience against several strong opponents.
Despite the setback in the season finale, Highland showed growth throughout the year with contributions from a roster that featured several underclassmen. Players such as Brady Boyd, Cameron Katz, Mark Cannon, Louis Stewart and Brycen Martinez gained valuable varsity minutes, while juniors including Justin Slaven, Jake Slaven, Jakob Burelson, Myles Miller and Danijel Zekavica provided experience in the lineup.
Highland concluded the season with a 4-6 record at home and 4-9 on the road. With several returning players expected back next season, the Trojans will look to build on the experience gained during the 2025-26 campaign.
