The Highland High School Trojans football team is set to charge into 2025 with renewed confidence, fueled by a determination to prove they belong among the Northwest Crossroads Conference’s toughest programs.
The 2024 season was challenging, with the Trojans finishing 1-9 overall and 0-6 in conference play. Their lone win, a thrilling 22-21 battle over Whiting, showcased their fight and refusal to quit. Despite facing powerhouse opponents such as Hanover Central, Kankakee Valley and Hobart, Highland’s young roster gained invaluable experience against elite competition.
That trial by fire has forged a hungrier, stronger squad for 2025. The offseason has been defined by relentless work in the weight room, sharper conditioning sessions and a renewed emphasis on fundamentals. Coaches have praised the leadership emerging from veteran players and the energy brought by incoming talent.
This year’s Trojans aim to capitalize on improved team chemistry, a more physical defensive front and a balanced offensive attack. Every Friday night presents a chance to turn lessons learned into victories.
Highland isn’t just looking to compete — they’re ready to surprise, to inspire and to bring Trojan pride back to the forefront. In 2025, they’re not rebuilding. They’re rising.
