Highland earned a 56–55 victory over Lowell in a tightly contested varsity girls basketball conference matchup.

The game took place Jan. 6, 2026, at Lowell High School.

Highland set the tone early with an 18–13 first-quarter advantage and carried a narrow lead into halftime before both teams traded momentum in the second half. The Trojans remained composed down the stretch, matching Lowell’s scoring in the fourth quarter to preserve the one-point margin. Highland’s ability to execute in key possessions proved decisive in the closing minutes.

Jordan Steele led Highland with a team-high 23 points while shooting efficiently from the field and adding six free throws. S. Ballard followed with 14 points, providing steady scoring throughout the game. Avery Steele contributed 12 points and was active on the boards, while A. Figueroa added five points and six rebounds. As a team, Highland finished with 56 points on 22 made field goals and controlled key stretches of the game with disciplined half-court execution.

Highland will return to action Jan. 15 when it hosts Hanover Central in a 7 p.m. conference matchup.
