The Highland Trojans dropped a 57–47 decision to the Kankakee Valley Kougars in a varsity boys basketball conference game. Highland stayed competitive through three quarters, trailing by just 43–43 entering the final period.

According to reports, the Trojans remained competitive through three quarters, entering the final period with a score of 43–43. Initially, Highland trailed just 16–15 after the first quarter and held a narrow lead at halftime. However, Kankakee Valley gained separation in the third quarter by outscoring Highland 21–17 and maintained their momentum to secure the victory. Justin Slaven led Highland’s offensive efforts, while the Kougars relied on balanced scoring and defensive pressure for their road conference win.

Highland is set to face Hanover Central in an upcoming boys’ varsity basketball conference game on February 5. In their previous encounter, Highland suffered a defeat against Hanover Central with a score of 68–38 on February 6, 2025, during a conference game at Highland High School.
