The Highland Trojans boys basketball team secured a 49–45 road victory over the North Newton Spartans in a nonconference matchup. The game took place on December 6 at North Newton High School.

According to reports, Highland stayed within striking distance throughout the game with steady offense and defensive energy before a strong fourth quarter pushed the Trojans ahead for good. Several players contributed in a balanced effort, including Brady Boyd and Justin Slaven in the backcourt, and Jake Slaven, Jakob Burelson, Myles Miller, and Cameron Katz providing valuable minutes. The team’s composure helped overcome early scoring runs from North Newton and maintain the lead in the closing minutes.

The next game for Highland is scheduled against Bowman Academy on December 22 at 9 a.m.
