Highland Boys Basketball dropped a 66-45 non-conference contest to Griffith.
The game was played Feb. 12 at Highland High School.
Griffith controlled the tempo throughout the matchup, building separation over four quarters while limiting Highland’s offensive rhythm. The Trojans battled to generate scoring opportunities but were unable to close the gap as the Panthers maintained their advantage.
Jake Slaven led Highland with 15 points, finishing 6-of-10 from the field and connecting on three three-pointers. Justin Slaven added 12 points and pulled down eight rebounds, while Cameron Katz contributed 10 points, including four made free throws. Brady Boyd chipped in six points, and Louis Stewart added two. Highland shot 15-of-40 from the field and 8-of-21 from three-point range.
The Trojans totaled 18 rebounds and 12 assists but were limited by 19 turnovers against Griffith’s defensive pressure. Despite the deficit, Highland continued to compete on the glass and apply effort defensively throughout the second half.
Up next, Highland will travel to Lighthouse College Prep Academy on Feb. 26 for a 7 p.m. tip as the Trojans look to regroup heading into their next matchup.
