Highland Boys Wrestling competed at the IHSAA Boys Semi-State at East Chicago Central with Simon Martinez and Landen Garrison representing the Trojans.
The semi-state was held Feb. 14 at East Chicago Central High School.
Martinez, a junior, competed at 138 pounds and weighed in at 138.3. He faced a competitive bracket at the semi-state level and concluded his tournament without placing. Sophomore Landen Garrison competed at 150 pounds, weighing in at 149.3, and also competed in a deep field at semi-state.
Both wrestlers advanced to the semi-state round through earlier postseason competition, earning the opportunity to compete among the top qualifiers in the region. The semi-state bracket featured some of the strongest competition of the year, as wrestlers battled for advancement to the state finals.
While neither Martinez nor Garrison placed at the event, their qualification to semi-state marked an important accomplishment in the 2025-26 postseason. Competing at this stage reflects the progress of the Highland program and the experience gained by both wrestlers against high-level opposition.
The semi-state appearance concluded Highland’s participation at that level this season, with Martinez and Garrison representing the Trojans in one of Indiana’s most competitive postseason rounds.
