Justin Slaven paced Highland offensively as the Trojans battled Hammond Bishop Noll before falling 62-53 in a competitive nonconference matchup.
The game was played Feb. 17 at Highland High School in Highland, Indiana, as the Trojans hosted the Warriors in late-season action.
Highland opened strong, building a 17-16 advantage after the first quarter and extending the lead to 29-27 by halftime behind balanced scoring and defensive effort. The Trojans continued to compete in the third quarter, matching Hammond Bishop Noll’s pace before the Warriors created separation in the final period with an 18-9 fourth-quarter run. Slaven led Highland with 15 points while adding seven rebounds and contributing on both ends of the floor. Sophomore Louis Stewart added 13 points on efficient shooting, converting five field goals while also grabbing three rebounds and recording two assists. Cameron Katz contributed 10 points and three assists, while Jake Slaven and Myles Miller each added five points to support the offensive effort.
Highland finished 18-of-44 from the field and converted 12-of-18 free throws while battling on the glass with 21 total rebounds.
The Trojans continued preparing for postseason competition following the nonconference matchup as the regular season schedule approaches its conclusion.
