Highland turned in a series of strong performances across multiple events at the Ed Woodrick Invite, highlighted by event wins and top finishes against a competitive field.
The meet took place April 11 at Munster High School in Munster, Indiana, where Highland athletes competed in sprint, distance, hurdle, and field events.
Kennedy Stephens delivered one of the top performances of the day, winning the girls 100 meters in 12.39 seconds and adding a fourth-place finish in the 300-meter hurdles. Stephens also claimed first place in the long jump with a mark of 18 feet, 5.25 inches. Megan White added a fifth-place finish in the 100 meters and placed third in the long jump, contributing to Highland’s strong showing in the sprints and jumps.
Aniya Sole placed second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.62 seconds and later added another top finish in the 300 hurdles. In distance events, Malachy Colglazier recorded a ninth-place finish in the 800 meters and seventh in the 1600, while additional points came from Highland runners in both races.
In the field events, Charles Beanblossom and Rex Owens contributed top-12 finishes in shot put, while Owens also placed eighth in discus. Highland’s relay teams added solid efforts, including a seventh-place finish in the boys 4×800 relay.
Highland continues its season with upcoming meets as athletes build momentum across events.
